BATHURST has gone another day without a new COVID-19 case, while the number of active cases in Western NSW has also remained stable.

As of 10am Tuesday, there was still one case of the virus active in the Bathurst Regional Council area, with the other eight having recovered.
Five people are still receiving medical treatment across the Western NSW area.
Overall, there have been 45 COVID-19 cases in the Western NSW Local Health District (LHD), a number that has remained relatively stable since April 6.
Of those still sick from the virus, apart from the one person in Bathurst, there are two people in the Mid-Western local government area and one each in Dubbo and Orange LGAs.
A Western NSW LHD spokeswoman has clarified that the health district incorrectly reported on Monday that there were two active cases in Orange.
A number of LGAs, including Cowra, Forbes, Bogan and Oberon, have had no COVID-19 cases at all.
"It is critical that everyone in all our local communities continue to practice social distancing to minimise the risk of the transmission of COVID-19," the LHD spokeswoman said.
"This is important for everyone, but particularly for older people and people with health conditions that make them more vulnerable.
"It's also important that we protect our health care workers who we need to stay well to provide care to people who become sick with COVID-19."

- Clean your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or an alcohol-based rub
- Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with tissue or a flexed elbow
- Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms
