The Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre, who hosts the event alongside BooksPlus, made the decision to move Bathurst-based events online last month, however, all streams from Sydney Writers' Festival have been cancelled, as the event was scrapped.
One of the major programs scheduled for the event is Saturday's the Life at Home: Bathurst workshop, hosted by Bathurst Multicultural Storytelling Festival director Jock Cheetham.
The workshop will be held to prepare participates for the competition of the same name, with categories for photography, writing, audio and video.
"It's a storytelling workshop on the theme on the life at home. You can share your stories of life at home or you can get feedback on your content," Mr Cheetham said.
"We can just listen and appreciate these experiences, or we can discuss how these might be developed into stories, including for the Life at Home competition.
"If workshop participants want to, they can also get comments on work they've done in photo, text, video or audio, and improve that for later submission to the competition."
Deadline for the competition proper is June 12 and participants are encouraged to enter their submissions now to have them shared online.
For more information on the competition, visit the Bathurst Multicultural Storytelling Festival website at bathurststorytelling.com.
Bathurst councillor Monica Morse will open the festival on Friday night at 5.50pm, before the first segment - Books You Might Have Missed.
