On Sunday afternoon at the Bathurst Paceway, Parkes reinsman Brett Hutchings hit the milestone as he steered Im Alrite to victory in the Neville Pellow Memorial (1,730 metres).
In the gig for Dubbo trainer Lex Bramble, Hutchings notched up his 100th in a thrilling finish aboard the $15 chance.
After going from barrier six, Im Alrite went back and settled at the rear of the field. With 700m to go the four-year-old gelding was second-last.
Into the final bend Hutchings guided Im Alrite four-wide and after he balanced up, he charged to the line.
Im Alrite clinched the win in his final stride, rating 2:00.0 as he beat out Dinosaurus Rex ($3.80) by a head.
It was just the third win in 23 starts for the Western Terror x Thats All Right gelding, but for Hutchings it was a different story.
Win number 100 came almost 11 years after Hutchings first sat in the gig for a race, having made his debut aboard Seven Birdies at Dubbo in August, 2009.
His first victory came a week after that at Dubbo with Blazing Bindy.
