THE Neighbourhood Centre has a huge May 2020 planned and even though our centre cannot have visitors yet, we are engaging with our community online in new and exciting ways.
For Neighbourhood Centre Week (May 8 to 15), we have a Channel 9 interview with our service manager already available for viewing on our Facebook page and on Friday we launch a new series of video clips on our website, introducing our team and what they are achieving in our community.
While you are on Facebook, check out our chair yoga, guaranteed to make you feel great!
As part of National Families Week (May 15 to 21), a free jazz dance workshop for primary aged kids is happening on Thursday, May 14 from 3.30 to 4.45pm or join the workshop Emotional Intelligence for Families on Saturday, May 16 from 10am to 11am.
Hosted by Clara Ferrari Bittencourt, this presentation will give insights into crisis management and creating a happier family. Clara's workshops get great reviews.
You must register for these events by clicking the link from our Facebook page.
National Volunteer Week (May 18 to 24) has the theme "Changing lives. Changing communities".
How will you be celebrating your volunteers? The Neighbourhood Centre has been organising handwritten cards for our volunteers and a surprise song from some of our creative staff acknowledging what volunteers do for us.
Volunteer podcasts will also be featured on our website and an online afternoon tea will be hosted in the middle of the week.
Volunteer of the Year Awards are open for nominations, which close Friday, July 3 at 5pm (AEST).
Don't miss out on this great way to recognise the hard work our volunteers do for us.
If you would like to volunteer or you are concerned about anyone in isolation, please contact The Neighbourhood Centre on 6332 4866.
