The red benches, in Haymarket Reserve and at the Kelso Community Hub, are an extension of the Red Bench Project in Bathurst.
The project is an initiative of the Red Rose Foundation. By having a red bench in a public space, participating cities hope to raise awareness about domestic violence.
Councillor Jacqui Rudge unveiled the Haymarket Reserve bench on Wednesday.
"It was back in September, 2019 where we launched our first red benches in both Machattie Park and Kings Parade, so we've moved forward with another two red benches," she said. "The additional benches are part of an initiative of the Red Rose Foundation and it's to create a permanent reminder that domestic violence occurs within all communities."
Cr Rudge said it's timely to introduce the benches, as being in isolation can be tough for people who were already experiencing domestic violence before COVID-19.

She said it was important to speak up, whether it be to friends, family or support agencies, and the benches are a reminder to do that.
"The red bench being here attracts people's attention, it starts a conversation and that's what we're trying to do," she said.
"... I just want people to reach out and talk about it, even if it takes just a matter of coming and sitting with somebody and telling them how you're feeling, why you're feeling it; that's just beneficial on its own."
It's not known at this time whether any more red benches will be rolled out across Bathurst.
Cr Rudge is just pleased with what has already been achieved.
"I'm absolutely over the moon to see four. I put forward one, I was chuffed that I got two to begin with, and getting another two is just absolutely fantastic.
"I think Bathurst Regional Council and the Community Safety Committee need to be congratulated in taking this on board and moving forward with it.
"I'm sure the Red Rose Foundation in Queensland will be really excited because, remember, Bathurst was the first regional town in NSW to install a red bench, we put two in, and now we've got four, so we're really pushing above our weight here."
