Gayna Williams' Bad Boy For Love wasn't disgraced when running sixth at big odds last start on the same track while Dean Mirfin's Mont Genep journeys to Sydney off a front running success first up at Dubbo.
Bad Boy For Love's connections saw enough in the Wanted four-year-old's last Highway Handicap run to give the race another crack.
Williams' chestnut was sent out a $61 chance in that edition but finished only two and a half lengths off winner Tejori.
"The horse had a good run over there last start over the 1,200m. He comes back to the 1,000m but if the track remains heavy coming back a furlong might not be a bad thing," Williams said.
"The owners are keen to go back again and we've got a different jock on this time, Rachel King. He looks good going into the race but he'll need a bit of luck, of course.
"He went against his usual racing pattern last start for some reason. He normally drops out and finds the line but he was really keen and up on the running last start. He'll need to be doing that again over the 1,000m and make sure he doesn't get back too far."
Bad Boy For Love has two previous runs on a heavy track, the best result being a second place in a 2018 maiden.
Mont Genep toughed it out in front last start at Dubbo to hold off a wall of runners.
She stays over the 1,000m for this start and may look to get herself towards the front again.
Mont Genep will have every opportunity to do so from a mid-field barrier eight.
Both Bathurst runners are expected to start among the outsiders while Nick Olive's Tejori and Matt Dunn's unbeaten Keen Power look to be the big dangers.
Meanwhile, the highly anticipated return of Williams' star sprinter I Am A Cool Kid has unfortunately been postponed due to the heavy Randwick track.
On his return from a year-long absence due to injury the I Am Invicible seven-year-old cantered home across his two trials and was set to be sent out as one of the leading chances in the Exceedance @ Vinery Handicap (1,000m).
However, given his lengthy stint away from the track Williams wasn't keen to make his first run back a hard slog on the slow ground.
Williams said the lightly raced gelding was looking "as good as ever" over his two trials at Bathurst and Wellington.
I Am A Cool Kid has only raced seven times over an interrupted career but has never failed to finish inside the top two.
The Highway Handicap is race two, starting 12.05pm.
