A dead end road would seem to offer the best chance of "offending" as few people as possible, with only those that have to travel beyond the solar farm perhaps not enjoying the view. Surely, if it is screened by native plantings, there can be little offence?
And I have heard that there is research that shows grazing and shelter for sheep can be improved under solar farms compared to open country, as the panels provide shade and shelter, and the runoff from rain can actually cause more grass to grow in the places where it accumulates.
This, combined with the income from the use of the land, should make it financially attractive for anyone able to be involved.
Let's see if we can be positive about a major development proposed for our community.
Why not lead by example? Surely this project could put Bathurst in an enviable position for future energy security, if we support it and if we help it head in the right direction?
