Part-owned by Dean, along with his mother Suzanne Dean and aunty Megan Heraghty, the three-year-old doubled her purchase price of $3,000 at only start number two.
This came courtesy of an extra $3,000 bonus given to owners for their runner's first victory.
"Mum was straight on the phone and was crying and so was Megan," Dean laughed.
"Everyone was just that happy/excited/proud that she had won and we couldn't really believe it."
Although this was Dean's second win in the gig and second win as an owner, it was his first wearing his late grandfather's colours - making the victory even more sentimental.
"He had a bad fall in trackwork at Parkes and became a quadriplegic," Dean said.
"It was pretty special, something I've wanted to achieve for a long time."
Beginning from barrier two, Dean was able to find the find the lead on his $101 chance before handing up to Josh Turnbull's Bell River Boy.
With a quick third quarter run and the leader unable to hold its position down the back, Feelgood Express was relegated to three-back along the pegs.
Manoeuvring into clear running down the home straight, Dean was able to get Feelgood Express home just in time to score by a narrow head margin over Marni White.
