That's the forecast for Bathurst from this weekend on as Chifley Dam looks likely to get another boost.
Weatherzone meteorologist Graeme Brittain said "a fairly complex frontal system" is set to affect the south east of Australia this weekend, and that includes Bathurst.
IN NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
Saturday will be dry during the day, he said, though cloud will be increasing, and the rain is set to arrive late on Saturday evening.
"There is the potential for some fairly decent rainfall totals over late Saturday and into the middle of Sunday - it will be a good 12-hour period of showers and rain," he said.
"Some models are suggesting falls of five to 15 millimetres, while other models do display heavier falls are possible in the local area. That would look like 20 to 30mm.
"The heaviest rain from the system will be on and just west of the ranges, so you are on the right side of the ranges for this rainfall event."
"Some quite cold air" will dig in behind the rain, Mr Brittain said, and there will be wintry showers for elevated parts of the Bathurst region, including the Oberon plateau, overnight on Sunday and into Monday afternoon.
"There is much colder air arriving by the early part of next week and temperatures in Bathurst will be in the single figures on Monday and Tuesday," he said.
Chifley Dam was at 36.6 per cent capacity when the latest reading was taken on Tuesday - up 0.6 per cent on the week before.
