The city reached a paltry top of 7.6 degrees on the first day of the working week - below the 9.2 degrees that was the coldest day last month and the 10.7 degrees that was the coldest day the month before.
The feels-like temperature on Monday, however, told the real story.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the temperature felt no better than two degrees for all of the afternoon - and at one stage felt like zero.

Tuesday, in comparison, got to a relatively balmy 8.5 degrees, though it felt like just one or two degrees throughout the day.
The city's maximums are set to be in the double figures for the next week and there is no rain in the forecast to add to the 35 millimetres collected in the gauge for this month so far.
