While it may be slightly different to what the city has become accustomed to in previous years, the Bathurst Winter Festival is set to launch on Saturday, July 4.

The highlight feature of this year's festival is to be a drive-in cinema, located at the back of Pit Lane at Mount Panorama.
The opening night of the cinema will be a double feature with The Notebook and Dirty Dancing, followed by the 1995 classic Jumanji on Sunday, however, tickets are all but sold out for the first two nights.
Bathurst mayor Bobby Bourke acknowledged the council events team, who originally put forward the idea of a drive-in cinema.
"Through COVID-19 a lot of things were discussed about the Bathurst Winter Festival and right up to about a month ago, we weren't sure what we were going to do," he said.
"The events staff, who worked with Aaron Jones [from Finance and Corporate Services], they threw around a few ideas. When the drive-in came up, the whole council was onboard.
"I have to thank the events staff and the whole team for their initiatives they've taken, to keep Bathurst alive, especially during winter.
"A cold winter in Bathurst isn't always that good, but if you've got somewhere to go and something to do, it passes that time a bit quicker."
While Cr Bourke doesn't believe this year's festival will be as big as previous years, you can never be too sure, considering how the event has grown in recent years.
"When we first started off with the winter festival in 2015, no one knew how big it would get and it got bigger and bigger each year," he said.
"It won't be as big as previous years, but it still keeps that winter festival name out there as one of the major events you can come to Bathurst for."
Other movies that will be on show at the cinema include The Hangover, Mad Max, The Shining, Paddington, The Karate Kid, 22 Jump Street and Pulp Fiction.
