Club president Bob Lundie-Jenkins said the old paling fence behind the club has seen better days and is in such a sorry state that many people sneak through there as a short cut to get to the shops.
"A new fence will effectively secure the site and give the club much better security," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the club will receive a Community Building Partnership grant of $4462 to cover the cost of materials for the work.
"The great thing about this grant is that the members only wanted enough money to cover the cost of the Colorbond fence panels and some concrete," Mr Toole said.
"They will pitch in and do the work themselves to put up 42 panels, using 20 bags of cement and two cubic metres of concrete mix."
The NSW Community Building Partnership program awards grants for community infrastructure projects.
The aim of the grants is to fund initiatives that "deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes while also promoting community participation, inclusion and cohesion", according to the NSW Government.
