SHAME, shame, shame be on the heads of those councillors who chose to support the damage to be inflicted on McPhillamy Park.
For what? A go-kart track.
Your actions are no better than those of the mining company that recently destroyed the indigenous cultural site in Western Australia.

McPhillamy Park on Mount Panorama is of cultural significance to all people, regardless of religion, race, creed or culture.
Just look at the Mount from any direction off the Bathurst Wambool plain.
It is obvious to all this is the highest point and it has always been to the tops of mountains/hills that mankind has gone in his earthly attempts to get close to God.
Even atheists might use it to meditate and enjoy the view.

All the world's highest mountains are regarded sacred to some in whatever they perceive God to be.
From the top, day and night, we can see forever in every direction, up and down, as the Wiradyuri could.
To all the people who have been to Mount Panorama/Wahluu and felt a special - even spiritual - connection to it, I say we must not allow it to be defaced or damaged by a selfish few.
Councillors, please reconsider your actions and relocate the go-kart track to a place to be agreed upon by all and leave McPhillamy Park to a place for lovers of nature and beauty forever.
