The Bathurst Camping Team confirmed the news on Saturday morning, saying uncertainty over the COVID-19 pandemic had forced the delay.
An online message posted by the Camping Team said Supercars was "working closely with NSW Health authorities to confirm details for camping at the 2020 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000".
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"We ask that all of our loyal fans be courteous and understanding as Supercars navigates these unprecedented times," the message said.
"We look forward to assisting you as soon as possible.
"We thank you for your support and we wish you and your families all the best as we work to get fans back to the mountain as soon as possible."
The Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 is due to take place on October 8-11.
Campground tickets were due to go on sale to the general public from Monday, July 27.
