Over the last few months, Schubert has posted a series of piano-driven covers requested by his Facebook friends, putting his own flavour on songs such as Evie, Part Two [Stevie Wright], Eternal Flame [The Bangles] and Glycerine [Bush].
"I got swamped with requests at the beginning, so I've been slowly working through them all to give everyone a unique interpretation of a song they treasure," he said.
"The aim of the covers project is to spread some positive vibes among friends, and the comments I've received have been heartwarming."
Schubert has also continued working on The Safety of Life at Sea's upcoming third album, which he said is now in the finishing stages.
"We're getting the band together this weekend to work on some more promotional stuff for the record," he said.
"It's a bit hard to get bigger groups together at the moment with the current restrictions, but I've enjoyed performing the new songs solo, and the audience response so far has been really promising."
Schubert performed solo at the Elephant and Castle last month, and more recently at Dubbo's Devil's Hollow Brewery alongside wife and fellow Safety of Life at Sea member Lian Wong.
The free gig will get under way from 6pm. Registration is available from Eventbrite and table bookings are strongly encouraged.
