Bronte O'Brien, Gus Hundy, Jeffrey Knox and Jack Webb had their hair either shaved or coloured, at school on Thursday as part of the World's Greatest Shave fundraising efforts.
Bronte, 15, who had waist-length hair, lost her mum to cancer back in 2015, and said she was happy to support such a great cause.
MAKING NEWS:
Not only did she raised over $5,000, she also donated her locks to the Leukemia Foundation's partner, Sustainable Salons, which makes wigs for people who have lost their hair while undergoing chemotherapy.
Before undergoing the chop, she said she was "a little bit nervous", but "glad it was a warm day, because she hadn't bought a beanie!"
Principal, Ken Barwick said the students had done an amazing job fundraising, as had the larger school community who supported their efforts.
It's been a huge week for the students at Bathurst High, who as a school last week raised over $3,300 for Ronald McDonald House, and then this week threw its support to World's Greatest Shave.
Mr Barwick said he was amazed by their fundraising efforts, and proud of the school community for lending their support.
"I can't believe four kids have raised in excess of $8,000, Bronte herself has raised over $5,000, it;s incredible."
He said it was fantastic as a school they were involved in so many positive things.
