The event, originally scheduled for this Saturday at the Bathurst Showground, was to be the third consecutive market since its June return from a four-month COVID-induced break.

But Farmers' Market chair Paul Haysom said the Lions Club of Bathurst resolved to call off this weekend's event due to the expected inclement weather conditions.
"With snow predicted to fall as low as 600 metres this Saturday, our committee felt it wouldn't be worth staging the event this weekend," Mr Haysom said.
"Many of our stallholders are spread out across the Central Tablelands and if the region receives the predicted snowfall, we expect many will be unable to attend."
"We're also concerned the weather would've caused discomfort for patrons, so we feel this is a safe decision."
Mr Haysom expects the market to return in September, and said attendees have followed the event's COVID-safe guidelines with plenty of care.
"Our COVID-19 plan has worked really well, and attendees have been respectful of the need to socially distance and practice good hygiene," Mr Haysom said.
"The attendance at the last two markets has given us confidence in our ability to run the event safely, and we hope this weekend will be more of the same."
Mr Haysom said the return of the market has provided plenty of joy for the Bathurst community as to many, the event is considered somewhat of a monthly ritual.
"There were so many people who really wanted the market back, and we're very thankful we've found a way to run the event smoothly in keeping with public health orders," he said.
"A significant portion of the community love the market for the variety of products they can get, such as bread, assorted meats, local wines, olive oil and fresh fruit and vegetables"
"The success of the event is a testament to our dedicated stallholders and attendees."
The event is regularly held on the fourth Saturday of every month.
