HIGH-tea-in-a-box has turned out to be a lifeline for historic Abercrombie House, which has enjoyed one of its busiest Augusts ever.
Owners of the historic property, Christopher and Xanthe Morgan replaced their popular high tea at the historic homestead with a take-away high-tea-in-a-box which launched back in April.
Since then, the idea has enjoyed enormous success, with the Morgan's continuing to diversify to accommodate the conditions of the times.
After the pandemic hit, Mr Morgan said they were forced to think laterally.
"We looked to all the things we do really well."
Thankfully it has been a success.
The boxes, which are pre-ordered, contain a selection of hand made goodies, with a Scottish twist, to reflect the narrative of Abercrombie House.
Since launching high-tea-in-a-box, the Morgan's have also introduced roast-dinners-in-a-box which were a wonderful success.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"We also did a Sunday roast in the ballroom, which was limited to 26 people to accommodate the four square metre rule.
"We will also be doing a Father's Day luncheon, which will be really boutique."
He said they have developed really beautiful things for smaller numbers.
"It has been a great success, something we started to offset the complete shutdown of coach group travel.
"For us diversity and innovation is the key.
Mr Morgan also thanked the community for their support.
"Back in April when the tourism industry needed immediate support, we launched these boxes and hundreds and hundreds of local people came and backed us."
