The initiative which runs through September was officially launched at The Hub on Tuesday afternoon, with Ms Fitzsimons saying this year's BizMonth will focus on helping businesses reinvent themselves.
"Our businesses have known the most difficult past 12 months they've had to face with drought, water restrictions, bushfires and COVID," she said.

"It's unlikely business will go back to exactly the way it was. It'll never be the same it was before.
"Businesses have to adapt in order to survive through this period and to be successful in what the new normal will be."
Ms Fitzsimons wants businesses to engage with the events that are on offer during BizMonth.
"Get out there, engage and participate," she said.
"The other thing is, I'd also like every business to look at itself and what it is doing and have a think about how it presents itself to visitors outside Bathurst."
This year's BizMonth is the sixth annual running of the event, with the first two years branded BizWeek, before expanding as the initiative has grown.
Council's manager of economic development Steve Bowman said Bathurst has had a long history of supporting local business.
"If you go all the way back to the 1930, there was a week called Shopping Week," he said.
"That was actually started by the business chamber, so it's been 90 years since then.
"So we're still doing these initiatives and Bathurst has always had a great spirit of supporting local business."
