Applications are currently open for students to be a part of the 2020-21 Bathurst Regional Youth Council, with applications closing on Tuesday, September 14.
Mr Lynch said he's loved his time on the youth council.
"It's an amazing way to get valuable insight into politics and community service, and is a rewarding outlet that supplements sporting and curricular commitments to develop a broad range of skills that are useful in the future," he said.

"The youth council is founded upon diversity and positivity, and I've found it to bring out skill and characteristics in both myself and others that were limited prior.
"The range of perspectives and experiences brought to the youth council every year is ultimately its main strength, as discussion at meetings is always filled with valuable insight that results in events and initiatives catering to the broad concerns felt by our young people."
Deputy mayor Natalia Burgess said the youth council has provided her with a range of opportunities to not only speak up for herself but to provide a voice for others.
"This is especially important when they feel as though they do not have a voice," she said.
"I have also learnt the crucial skills of time management, interview skills and organisation and management. These skills have set me up for life."
Ms Burgess, who has been a member of the youth council since 2018, said she's been grateful for her time on the council.
"The youth of our community are special and unique, and that's exactly why they should be recognised," she said.
"It has shaped me into the individual that I am today, and I will always look back on my time on the youth council with fondness as it was a very fulfilling experience."
The youth council consists of 14 members aged between 15 and 18 years.
