Saints missed out on a top two finish by the smallest of margins following last week's concluding round of the regular season but on the positive side it means they get to play on their home turf against Orange CYMS this Saturday.
Pat's, who enter finals with just a single loss to their name this season, will be the team to beat in the minor semi-final, especially with a convincing 4-0 against CYMS to their name from earlier in the year.
No team ever wants to go in too overconfident for a finals clash but St Pat's coach Ben Weal said a positive run of training sessions has given him plenty of faith that his squad can get the job done again.
"Initially I was disappointed after last week but at the end of the day we've still made finals. It would be nice to be playing in the top two but that wasn't to be. The girls got over that pretty quickly," he said.
"I know we beat CYMS easily last time but this is finals hockey. Everyone turns up at semi-finals time. We have to be prepared for a hard game and turn up ready to play - and I think we will - but you don't want to go in too overconfident and not get the result.
"The three to four weeks have probably been some of the best training sessions we've had for the last couple of seasons, based on a couple of comments from the girls, so it's looking like we're in good form.
"The good thing is that this is the first game where we know a lot about the team we're playing and we've tailored our training to that."

Pat's will have their full strength side on deck at the right time of the year.
The team have had to do some minor shuffling around through the year but have managed to avoid making too many changes, which has played a big part in their consistently strong brand of hockey in 2020.
Saints enter finals off a 1-0 win over Bathurst City, a match where Pat's weren't short of chances to extend that winning margin.
"We possessed the ball really well and if we do the same thing we'll be able to get the result," Weal said.
"We had lots of scoring opportunities though. We didn't shoot as well as we could have and their goalkeeper was excellent. That game probably featured the two best goalkeepers in the competition.
"For that reason, I think we were getting quite frustrated. Our general play wasn't difficult but we were having shots saved left, right and centre. It's good to be able to get through that with a win though."
Match starts 2.15pm.
