There have been some tough Saturdays so far in 2020, but the Giants have won their past two games and discovered some of the self belief which was missing. It means Kennedy's squad currently finds themselves sitting in second.
With that good form comes the headache - just who does Kennedy pick for this weekend's clash with Dubbo Demons? If they win, the Giants will host the preliminary final.
"We've got some really handy ins for that game so it's going to be really hard selection wise. This year it's been really great with the team understanding we have to put the best team on the paddock week-to-week and that there are some really tough decisions to be made as I've got 30-odd players to pick from and there's only 19 I can put on," he said.
"But they're all supporting each other, they're all getting to the game to help out, run the water, run messages. It's a really good vibe and culture we've got going at the moment and we're really enjoying our footy.
"I think with that enjoyment comes the good results.
"We've got some really good young blokes who are enjoying their footy, it's good to see this year and come next year, it's going to be really exciting for us."
