Now the fullback is set to add his maiden NRL finals campaign to that list as well.
On Sunday as Kennedy and his Sharks posted a dramatic 22-14 win over the New Zealand Warriors - the match-sealer coming five minutes from time - it ensured they would play in this year's finals series.
Given Kennedy was not seen as the Sharks' first choice custodian before season 2020 kicked off, it shows just how far he has come.
While injuries to big name players Matt Moylan and Josh Dugan was what initially gave Kennedy his shot at fullback, the St Pat's graduate has made the number one jumper his own.
Sunday's match against the Warriors was the 14th time the 23-year-old has started for the Sharks this season, while his form also saw him rewarded with a contract extension in August.
Though Kennedy is still working to improve his game and excited about the future, he is also keen to see the Sharks press for the premiership.
"It's good to have that contract in place, just to look forward next year, but also focus on a good year this year, finish it off strong," he said.
"I'm just trying to play good footy and hopefully it cements my spot at the fullback role and just hopefully I can keep playing good."
Kennedy made 39 metres from five runs in the win over the Warriors and also had a line break assist.
The Sharks, who are currently sitting in eighth on the ladder with 10 wins from 18 games, have matches against Roosters and Raiders to finish the regular season.
