On Tuesday, the dam sat at 98.2 per cent and according to Bathurst mayor Bobby Bourke, it's 13 centimetres below the wall.
"We probably need a couple more days of flowing water, so I reckon the next time it rains it'll go over," he said.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"You also need to consider the wind direction and all that for the water to run in.
"We'll just continue to monitor the dam. We'll have enough water for a few years."
At the dam's last official reading last Tuesday, it was at 95.5 per cent, the highest it had been since January 2017.
At this stage last year, the capacity of the dam was at 46 per cent, while it was at 60 per cent in 2018.
A green level alert is currently in place for the dam, which means that water related recreational activities are allowed to take place.
Certain water restrictions have been eased since the increase of the dam's water level and for more information, visit the Bathurst Regional Council website at www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/waterwise.html.
