Going undefeated and winning a thriller was special for Storm, but there was a bigger reason to celebrate on top of that.
It was because Saturday's grand final marked the last time the Storm players will compete together as next year some will move to different schools while the two boys in the side - James Billington and Harley Sargent - are not permitted to play mixed netball in the older age divisions.
Storm was the only team in the 12As division to have two boys in their squad.
"I have enjoyed coaching this team over the past seven years and watching them go from strength to strength," coach Donna Miller said.
"I wish these players all the best moving forward and will be cheering you on."
Four foundation members of the Storm side from seven years earlier - Abi Smith, Sophie Windsor, Ruby Lewis and Mia Miller - were part of this season's team.
Those four, Billington, Sargent, Grace O'Neill, Layla Liston and Hannah Orpwood combined well to see Storm complete the regular season as the undefeated minor premiers.
They finished two points clear of City Colts and under the shortened format of the season, advanced directly to the grand final.
City Colts won their semi-final against OOT Mocking J's 18-7 to join Storm in the grand final and grand it certainly was.
When they met in the regular season there was little in it, Storm posting a 17-12 win, and the decider was even more hotly contested.
After four quarters nothing separated the two sides which meant extra-time was required to determine the victor.
In the end it was Storm that came away with a three-goal win.
