The Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation provides approximately $750,000 twice a year to fund projects and initiatives across regional New South Wales.
Charitable Foundation Chair Jennifer Leslie is urging organisations with new or existing projects addressing health, young people and social disadvantage to apply.
"The Charitable Foundation is committed to helping disadvantaged, marginalised and isolated people as well as social opportunity and development in regional communities," Ms Leslie said.
"We're looking to fund projects that use innovative solutions, but also deliver a local approach to addressing important community issues, including those arising due to the social and economic effects of COVID-19."
The foundation has previously donated $35,000 to SHINE for Kids' 'Storytime in Wellington' program, $73,000 to LeaderLife to purchase a vehicle and equipment for their Soil 2 Soul program and $60,000 to Veritas House for their Transitional Housing for Homeless Youth program.
"Since 2003, the Charitable Foundation has approved over $22 million in funding to almost 500 regional NSW community initiatives," Ms Leslie said.
"We're looking forward to continuing our work with Central West charities to improve outcomes for people in need."
Applications close October 22. For more information, visit www.charitablefoundation.com.au.
