The Clergate speedster found a home on the wing in her maiden season and is fresh off a two-try performance in the side's North Cup grand final victory over Mudgee on Saturday.

The 29-17 triumph was the girls' third win over the Wombats this season as they completed a sweep of the second-placed team on their way to a title.

Even though this season was Jackson's first on a rugby field, she's adamant it's not the first time she's needed to be physical during sport as she played netball throughout her first two years at CSU.

"People say netball isn't a contact sport but it definitely is," Jackson said.

"I'd never played touch or anything before this season but I love a challenge and I'm a very competitive person.

"I wasn't too scared to give someone a bit of shoulder. Once I got into it and threw myself out there, it got a bit easier."

She had the enthusiasm to dedicate herself to rugby this year but the transition was made easier by her coach as Daniel Adamson eased the side into tackling long before round one.

"Flash [Adamson] made it feel not as intimidating as it is," she said.

"For the girls who have never played rugby before, he made sure we were at least knowledgeable about tackling.

"The other girls made it easy as well and made sure I was ready to come across some bigger girls during the year."

Adamson led the side to a premiership in his first year at the helm and Jackson plans to return next winter and push for back-to-back honours.

"Of course I'm playing next year," she said.

"Out of all the girls I spoke to, there's not one that didn't have fun this year."

"It would be nice to play some different teams like Bathurst and Dubbo... their pool was obviously really strong this season but we'll see what happens."
