Later, in admitting the error of their ways, executives of this company agreed to forgo their bonuses (amounting to tens of millions of dollars) and eventually heads rolled and several executives lost their jobs and a lot of money.
An apology was issued and Rio Tinto promised to do better. But the damage was done!

If the construction of the go-kart track on a beautiful scenic site - unique to our area - is allowed to proceed, can we expect the councillors and the mayor of Bathurst Regional Council to eventually issue an apology to the people of Bathurst, and the traditional owners of the land, and agree to forgo their stipends and other perks they receive?
But the damage will have been done!
It's time to consider another suitable site for a go-kart track.
