Mr Maxwell said the funding announcement would help not only young people who are worried about finding a job post HSC, but also older people needing to retrain, and employers who are struggling to afford trainees amid the pandemic.
"Under this new subsidy scheme, employers will be eligible for 50 per cent of the wages for a new or recommencing apprentice or trainee for the period up to 30 September 2021, up to $7000 per quarter," Mr Maxwell said.
