During the Great Race, the park would host between 500-600 campers, bringing between $15,000 and $20,000 in funds for the sub branch, which in turn was donated to local charities like the Neighbourhood Centre and the Bathurst Community Transport Group.
Sub branch president John Murphy said it's disappointing that camping won't be happening this year.

"There's been a lot of friendships made over the years because it's happening for some time and it's the same faces every year," he said.
"We've got no way of contacting them, so we're hoping they don't turn up this year expecting to find a campsite.
"It's the only fundraiser of the year we have. We have a little bit of money in the bank and we should be right for the next 12 months and we'll see what happens then."
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Mr Murphy said the sub branch had already made the call to cancel camping this year, prior to Bathurst 1000 organisers banning camping for the Great Race.
"We decided about five weeks ago we wouldn't go ahead because of COVID-19 restrictions," he said.
"We weren't sure whether the race was going to go ahead or not."
The sub branch had also previously sold firewood for campers.
"It's hard work to cut it and cart it, so we let everyone know last year that we weren't going to do firewood this year, but now we're not doing camping," Mr Murphy said.
