Big announcement, eh?
And so Blackheath has got its tunnel and the rest of us, including the Central West, have got bugger-all.
How'd that happen, I wonder? Seems we've to continue to be a thorn in the side of [Minister for Regional Roads and Bathurst MP Paul] Toole and [Transport for NSW's Alistair] Lunn and co for some time to come. No problems there; happy to oblige - in triplicate.
Have Toole or Lunn or Transport for NSW thought about the logic of creating an eastern bypass of Medlow village, out under the existing grid system that runs past Medlow and on to meet up with the proposed portal for the new Blackheath tunnel?
That would give Blackheath and Medlow peace and safety.
And it would give the Central West a stretch of more than 10 kilometres of 100 kilometres per hour roadway.
That's uninterrupted - no traffic lights, no pedestrians, no school zones, no different speed zones; just like a real highway.
Look at a map, Bathurst - then tell Toole and co how it should be done for the benefit of us all.
