It was unlike any other Bathurst 1000 over the weekend, but it didn't stop a local race fanatic and his two sons from enjoying the action at Mount Panorama.

Bathurst's Mark Evans attended the Great Race with sons Mike and Dave, and praised the event's organisation in lieu of the regular crowds.
"It certainly was different without the crowds, but it was still enjoyable, we all had a good time," Mr Evans said.
Mr Evans has been a follower of the Great Race since 1969, and attended his first event in 1975.
Although the environment was different, Mr Evans said he was happy to keep up a long-standing family tradition.
"We've always been a big Ford family: Allan Moffat in the early days then eventually Dick Johnson, Mark Winterbottom, Scott McLaughlin and the like," he said.
"It's a big event worldwide, and the fact it's a few minutes from home is something we as a community are lucky to have."
