No doubt the team will be a force to be reckoned with come finals time after storming home to capture a most impressive victory over Team Warumpi 12 sets to four.
Captain Mack was inspirational in his sides victory, being one of three players of all the 14 players to take to the court to win all of his four sets 6-3, 6-3, 6-3, 6-1.
Russell Welsh and Maddie Honeyman were the other two players to shine for Team ACDC, winning all their four sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3, 6-4, respectively.
Captain Mack was as happy as a guy eating a hot pie and tomato sauce on a cold winter's day.
''We really hit our straps today and played as a team, not as individuals as we have in the past,'' Mack said.
Team Warumpi losing captain Judy Smith had only six words to say.
''Out played, out gunned, out smarted," she said.
The second match was a boilover as Team Cold Chisel, captained by the "Iron Lady" Allyson Schumacher, caused the upset of the round beating the hot favourites and leaders of the competition Team Wham, captained by Slugger John Bullock, nine sets to seven.
The star player in this match was no doubt Andrew Tree of Team Cold Chisel, whom of all the fourteen players to take to the court was the only player to win all of his four sets, 6-4, -6-4, 6-3, 6-3.
It was a match winning performance from the young gun who is peaking at just the right time with the finals just around the corner.
Schumacher said she always believed it would take a good side to beat Slugger Bullocks Team Wham.
''We knew we were in for a fight against Sluggers' side, but I guess you could say Sluggers' trump card was trumped,'' Schumacher said.
Bullock was gracious in defeat.
''We were slow out of the boxes losing the first five sets but fought back doggedly to level it up to five sets all. We were beaten by a better team on the day,'' he admitted.
The bookies new market is as follows: Sluggers' Team Wham 2-1, Iron Lady's Team Cold Chisel firming from 20-1 to 5-1, Macks' ACDC 10-1, Howarths' Team The Eagles 20-1 and Smiths' Team Warumpi 50-1.
Good hitting.
