Betts has been drawn to drive eight-year-old Major Currency in the Harness Racing NSW Stars Championship (1,609 metres) on Saturday, which promises to be an exciting opportunity for the 17-year-old.
"It's really exciting to be picked, to be picked to represent our area in the race," she said.
"It's a series for concession drivers, for people under 23. Those drivers go to the championship and the winner will go into next year.

"[The Rising Stars Championship] is normally held over a week and you have so many drives across the week at different places in NSW but because of the virus, it's been limited to just the one race."
Betts said she's keen to get out there and race at the leading harness racing track in NSW.
"It's really exciting," she said about her opportunity.
"It seems like a good track and everyone seems to love it, so it'll be great to get out there and have a go."
Betts made her driving debut back in June and has since become of the most promising young drivers in Bathurst and the Central West region.
Getting her driving license as soon as she could after turning 16, driving was always something she had aspired to since a young age.
"I've always grown up with horses and harness racing and I've worked with a lot people that do harness racing successfully," she said.
"I've always wanted to drive and train, so it's good to be picked to do this."
Major Currency - who is trained by Joe Connolly - is a veteran of 111 starts, having won 15 races and claiming 41 placings all up.
The bay gelding's last two starts have come at Menangle, resulting in a ninth and 10th place finish on September 26 and 19 respectively.
Major Currency spent the majority of 2019 racing in Queensland, bar a few starts at Newcastle at the start of the year, racing at either Albion Park (43 times) or Redcliffe (two times).
Saturday's Rising Stars Championship - the first of a 10 race meeting - will get underway from 6.12pm.
