Named as one of six finalists in the NSW Careers Adviser of the Year Award, Ms Jones had originally been nominated by her peers.
She said it's been "really lovely" to have been nominated.

"It's very exciting because you're reviewed by your peers and for me, that's quite an honour," she said.
"It's just really lovely to be recognised for something that you love doing.
"The competition will be pretty stiff. There's some amazing careers advisers."
Ms Jones has been a full-time careers adviser at Scots All Saints College for two years now and there's not many people like her in her field in the region.
"This is an amazing position because it's been given the resources and the time and it's full-time," she said.
"There is no school in the Central West, that I'm aware of, that has a full-time appointed careers adviser role."
Throughout her time as a careers adviser, she's found great joy in the relationships she builds with her different students.
"Anyone who takes on this role, it's very much a careers role, but it's also a pastoral role in that level of support," she said.
"You build those relationships with the kids and you build a level of trust. When you've got that level of trust, often they've never told anyone what they want to do.
"Sometimes you're the first person they say, 'I'd like to be an actor' or 'I'd like to go into the police force'. Once they verbalise it, it puts the wheels in motion and it becomes real.
"It's much as about careers as supporting the whole person."
As a member of the Central West Careers Advisers Association, Ms Jones said she's built up a really good network of support across the region.
"If I have a question, I can contact anyone in the state," she said.
"We've got quite a good amount of forums, so the support network is there."
