The event was originally scheduled for October 17, but the committee made the difficult decision in April to cancel the event for 2020, in what would've been its 50th staging.
Committee member Rhyannah Larnach said organisers are maintaining a strong sense of positivity the event will be able to go ahead under normal circumstances next October.
"A lot of our sponsors have been curious for more information around the event's status, so we want to ensure we're planning profusely for next year," Ms Larnach said.
"We hope the COVID situation will have settled down enough by October so it can go ahead under normal circumstances."
Ms Larnach said the committee is planning a big, special event to mark the rodeo's 50th staging, with the cancellation of this year's event providing more time to organise.
"We made the decision to cancel early on to ensure we could make next year's rodeo extra special," she said.
"The half century is an important milestone for any long-running event, so we hope everyone can join us to acknowledge the grand occasion."
"We'd like to thank all the sponsors, competitors and spectators that come each year, and we look forward to seeing you all next year."
The event is held at the Rockley Sportsground, and is oe of the most popular rural gatherings in the Central West.
