The new outlet opened its doors on Thursday morning, marking the first time Kmart has been in Bathurst since 2007.
Due to extra numbers with opening, external crowd measures will be in place at the front of the store, while the cleaning frequency will be upped.
Store team members will be wiping down baskets and trolley handles, while hygiene stations have been positioned at the front of the store for customers.
Physical distancing will be a condition of entry into the Kmart store, with 1.5 metre floor guides and posters to help guide customers.
This will help manage the number of customers coming through our doors at any point in time, to ensure K Kmart does not exceed maximum capacity numbers
Customers are also being encouraged to use EFTPOS or credit cards wherever possible.
