The Year 4 students has been awarded a prestigious High Distinction in the 2020 NSW ICAS University of NSW Mathematics Competition, ranking him among the finest young mathematicians in the state.
Holy Family School principal Kevin Arrow said the university's assessment centre had confirmed nine-year-old Felix had scored in the top one per cent of Year 4 students in NSW as part of the prestigious competition.
This year's ICAS competitions were completed online under strict conditions.

"The teaching of maths at Holy Family is a priority across the school," Mr Arrow said.
"We have resourced this curriculum area really well and it is great to have a student awarded a High Distinction in this mathematics competition.
"Felix is a hard-working student and he deserves his outstanding achievement. Felix has received a University Certificate to recognise his high achievement in mathematics."
The University of NSW academic competitions for schools have a long history and large cohorts compete in the various subject tests each year.
The mathematics competition tests mathematical thinking, problem solving, knowledge and understandings of various maths topics.
