They powered their way through this year's club championships and demonstrated they will be a force of the future as well.
In the open singles Collins looked on cruise control as he overpowered his arch rival David Craft in winning 6-3, 6-2.
It was an impressive display of tennis from Collins, with his powerful serve and heavy groundstrokes doing the damage. It demonstrated he is taking his tennis to a new level.
Welsh peaked just at the right time as he took out the B grade event over Robert Mack 6-1, 7-5.
Welsh played really good, constructive tennis which paved the way for his brilliant victory. In his previous matches he had shown promise and loomed as a real threat coming into the championships, but his winning performance was still truly gutsy.
The open doubles was a real thriller with three pairs - Collins/Bullock, Hindmarch/Tree, and Reiri/Molkentin tied on 21 points in the round robin event.
With the pairs all locked up it came down to a for and against ruling and that paved the way for a gruelling final between the Reiri/Molkentin duo against the Hinmarch/Tree pairing.
The final was a thriller, with Reiri and Molkentin taking it out 8-6.
The match could have gone either way with all four players raising the bar playing that champagne tennis, but on the day Reiri and Molkentin glided round the court with ease to capture that magical winning feeling.
The B grade doubles final was a one-sided affair with Welsh and Robert Mack winning over Stacey Markwick and Toko Tari 8-3.
The Welsh/ Mack duo were looking good from the word go with Mack's thunderous serve, and cannon-ball forehand plus Welsh's speed round the court doing the damage. It was a classy win for the pair.
Well folks another great club championships. A huge thank you to co-ordinator of the championships Rod Schumacher for his hard work in organising the tournament. It's a big job every year in the running of such events, so bravo.
Good hitting.
