We managed to track her down and find out how she is managing the present list, the elves, reindeer and especially, Santa, who has just heard they are cleared to travel.
Q: What has been the biggest challenge for you this year?
A: I always knew we were still going to have to find a way to get presents to all the good girls and boys out there, even if we couldn't fly. So I kept the elves and Santa in the workshop working hard. It was difficult keeping them focused at such an uncertain time but I bribed them with cookies - and it worked.
Q: Did you have to implement any COVID-19 restrictions in the workshop?
A: Of course. It was vital we all kept 1.5m apart so I had to extend the workshop into the reindeers stables so we had more room. I kept sanitiser on all the tables and we all wore masks. Unless we were eating my cookies.
Q: What do you do while Santa is delivering his presents each year?
A: Not all the elves are allowed to travel with Santa when he is delivering presents, so those that stay behind have to be looked after and fed. They can get up to a lot of mischief once they have finished working each year. It's a bit like all the children who have finished school - they just want to run outside and play in the snow.
Q: Do you have a special Christmas dinner planned?
A: We always have our special Christmas dinner after Santa and the reindeer get home. That's usually quite late on Christmas night. But it's always the same delicious food he loves, even though he has put on a lot of weight this year from not being allowed out as much because of COVID-19 restrictions. He really need to get more exercise, but he is devoted to preparing for Christmas, no matter what events occur.
Q: What's your wish for Christmas this year?
A: I wish for us all to be healthy, happy and with our loved ones and that Santa is home on time for dinner.
