The new vehicle, a Ford Everest, will assist the Chifley Local Area Command [LAC] conduct a series of community engagement projects across the district, covering Bathurst, Lithgow, Blayney, Oberon and surrounding areas.
"This vehicle will accompany us to public and private events where police personnel engage with the local community," Chifley LAC Senior Constable Darren Carter said.
"The absence of police livery on the vehicle allows non-operational police staff [such as an Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer] to carry out community engagement operations."
The vehicle continues a fruitful partnership between the Chifley LAC and Clancy Motors, which saw an inaugural vehicle delivered late last year.
"Our Crime Prevention Unit predominantly uses the vehicle, as we regularly engage the community at schools, open days and major events boasting stalls," Sr Constable Carter said.
"Clancy Motors has been very good to us over the past couple of years, and we can't wait to put the vehicle to effective use."
Dealer principal Michael Pentecost said Clancy Motors is excited to see Ford come on board for the initiative's second year [last year, it was Mitsubishi].
"The Ford Everest is a four-wheel drive, seven-seat vehicle, which will help the Chifley LAC cover all terrains," Mr Pentecost said.
"This sponsorship helps amplify both our brands throughout the region."
