Parsons, who plays first grade cricket for St Pat's Old Boys, has been named in the 13-man squad, which has a heavy Dubbo presence.
Western coach Greg Rummans said he's been impressed with what he's seen from Parsons, especially with his pace bowling.

"I had him in Kookaburra Cup and he was fantastic then and he's progressed," he said
"He's bowling very heavy, he's batting is pretty solid but it could be a bit more positive, but he's got a solid base to work from.
"His bowling is what's been most impressive. He'll probably be the number one quick we take away."
Bathurst cricketer Blake Kreuzberger, who is unable to play due to injury, would've been captain, meaning Rummans has to now rethink who will skipper the team in Albury.
Seven players in the team hail from Dubbo, having been in turn sourced from the Macquarie Valley representative team, with Rummans describing it as the "best balanced council team I've seen".
"They bat to about nine and 10. They've got spinners, they've got quicks, good fielders and two keepers," he said.
"I watched them warm up and though it was at council level, that's the strongest group of players from one to 12 that I've seen.
"[Anthony] Atlee is a very strong player, [Hugh] Sienkiewicz has progressed really well and they're both playing Green Shield with Blacktown and Hawkesbury.
"I'm also pretty happy with the options in the quick bowling departement, particularly Gus and Riley Keen and Bailey Edwards too. Rudy Peet and Connor Whale are complementary and they should bowl well with the spinners."
The Bradman Cup will be held on January 5-7, with Western to play ACT Southern Districts on January 5, Riverina on January 6 and Greater Illawarra on January 7.
