There is no doubt 2020 has been a tough year and has left many people looking for ways to bring about a little bit of joy for themselves and others.
Among the people looking to do that with their Christmas decorations were Ashleigh Holland and her family.
"We decorate every year, it's gotten bigger each year," Ms Holland said.
"After the year we've all had with COVID, we wanted to bring some happiness to as many people as we could and who doesn't love Christmas lights?"
It took a few days for them to decorate at 17 Granite Rise, with the display including lights on the lawn and the roof, lights in the shape of animals, and inflatable Santas, reindeers and dinosaurs.
The decorations have gotten quite a bit of attention already.
"On the weekend just gone, we posted it on Facebook and so many people came to have a look; we had our nine-year-old son dressed up as an elf handing out candy canes to the kids that came past," Ms Holland said.
Families who love looking at the lights can find displays all across the city, including some big displays in Warrawee Close, Park Street, and Blaxland Drive.
