Eglinton RFS Senior Deputy Captain, Steve Plummer, said the owners had been alerted to the fire by their dogs barking.
"We got a call at approximately 9.30pm on Sunday, December 27, regarding a caravan fire at Wylchris Lane" he said.
"Upon arrival the Viscount caravan was fully involved and the land owners had commenced fighting the fire themselves.

"We put the fire out on arrival but the caravan had been destroyed.
"There was no further damage to other buildings and nobody was injured.
"It appears the fire was started by an electrical fault as it had been plugged into the power from the occupants house.
"Their power had suddenly gone out and they were then alerted to the fire by their dogs barking".
