NIC Broes was only given five overs to bowl on Saturday, but that was enough time for him to produce his best bowling performance since making the switch to ACT Premier Cricket.

The Bathurst spinner claimed an impressive 4-4 off 4.4 overs to help Western Districts to a commanding eight-wicket win over North Canberra-Gungahlin.
While batting has been more of a focus for Broes since making the move to the ACT competition, the former St Pat's Old Boys' star is still a more than handy option with the ball.
When first getting a chance to play first grade in that competition in season 2018-19 as part of Western's Twenty20 Blast outfit, he claimed eight wickets across his four matches. His best figures that season were 3-7.
Last season Broes moved to Canberra to play the full season with Western. He took 14 wickets at an average of 19.07 for the side as they ended up being crowned premiers, his best performance a 3-29.
Broes also did a job with the ball for Western in the National Premier Cricket T20 Championships when taking 3-22 off three overs to help his team beat Queensland outfit Valley.
In Saturday's match Broes ripped through Norths' lower order, helping to have the all out for 106.
Two of his victims were out bowled, his brief but damaging spell also including two maidens. In the run chase, Broes hit 18 off 15 opening the batting, Western securing the win in the 14th over.
Broes now sits 12th on the list of leading wicket takers in first grade ACT Premier Cricket with 10 wickets at an average of 18. Above him on that list are Western team-mates and fellow Bathurst District Cricket Association graduates Blake Dean (11 at 13.73) and Luke Powell (11 at 20.27).
