Prior to the Bathurst City captain's first game of the year, he had joked with his teammates that he's never got out in the 90s before.
Well Coughlan will be wishing he had kept his mouth shut because since then he has been dismissed for 93 against CYMS on January 9 and fell one run short of a century on Saturday gone against Cavaliers.
"I sort of jinx myself over the past three weeks because I was talking to the boys, saying I'd never been out in the 90s," he said.

"Now I've been out twice in three weeks, so it's not great but I guess I did it to myself.
"Hopefully that jinx is all over and done with now with those two 90s, so I can go on with it next time."
Coughlan was caught out from a short ball delivered by Cavaliers bowler Mark Maybin, who also claimed the wicket of Mark Day, who was out for nine.
"I got a short ball and I probably should've put it into the carpark, but I top edged it to mid-wicket. There was some disbelief actually," he said.
In the end, Coughlan and his Redbacks teammates fell three runs short of Cavaliers' total of 196, ultimately costing Bathurst City a valuable win, as they now sit 14 points adrift of the top four.
While some may believe Redbacks' season is done and dusted, Coughlan is adamant that there's still a chance for his side to turn it around in the final three games of the season.
"Our season could've been so different. If we won that controversial game against Centennials, we had St Pat's on the ropes the other week too and then the Cavs game, I say we would've come away with the win if I batted through," he said.
"You never know. It's just hindsight, talking about stuff like that now.
"I wouldn't right us off. There's three days left and plenty of points on offer, so you never know what happens."
Redbacks have a tough run ahead of itself in the final three rounds of the season, against City Colts in round 11, away to Centrals at Orange in Round 12 and third-placed Rugby Union in the final round of BOIDC home and away season.
