Kristie Anderson, Principal Instructional Leader at Denison College, said the evening, held at Charles Sturt University, was a very prestigious event where the Denison College community take a moment to reflect on the achievements of the college's "extraordinary young people."
Ms Anderson said she was proud to see the students celebrate their intelligence, hard work and tenacity.
"I know from experience that young people with grit and desire are truly the most extraordinary people on the planet. But I know that achievement, skill and ambition are something that gets awoken in us and the fire needs to be kept fuelled," she said.
Principal of Kelso High, Michael Sloan, said the evening was an uplifting way to start off the school year, and a chance to recognise the phenomenal talents of students attending the college.
Ken Barwick, principal of Bathurst High School, agreed saying it was fantastic to recognise the hard work of students in what was a particularly difficult year. "These students are the best of the best," he said.
