While it's going to take something wild for the team to miss out on a place in the Western Zone Premier League grand final, the fact that such a chance exists means that they can't afford a shred of complacency in this Sunday's last game of the regular season against Mid West.
The unbeaten Bathurst side will be overwhelming favourites for the game against a Mid West side staring down the barrel of a win-less campaign.
There's a lot to play for in the final round of the competition as Dubbo, Bathurst and Cowra vie for the two grand final spots.
A win of any margin for Dubbo over Cowra will be enough to earn hosting rights for the final, and would also ensure Bathurst would also reach the decider regardless of their result against Mid West.
However, an unlikely bonus point upset win from Cowra means Bathurst have to win their match.
A win for Bathurst and a loss to competition leaders Dubbo will send the grand final to the Sportsground.
Bathurst's Jameel Qureshi said there's no point looking for any score updates from Holman Oval - it's better for the team to not look outside the Sportsground.
"We have to concentrate on what we're doing if we're going to get the job done," he said.
"This is a great side to be a part of - one that's only getting stronger. There's heaps of younger guys in here now among the older guys and it's a team that everyone wants to be a part of.
"We have a lot of experience together as a group now. There's a core group who have been playing together for a long time, and that's helped out a lot of the younger guys coming through. We enjoy each other's success, that's the main thing."
That's been evidenced in the efforts of the youngest trio of players in the Bathurst side - Jack Goodsell, Mitch Taylor and Bailey Brien.
Brien was the top scorer in Bathurst's last round win over Parkes.
We have a lot of experience together as a group now.

The Saints collective have flourished at district level and have taken that experience back into their club cricket.
Mid West come into the match off a heart breaking two wicket defeat to Cowra - the closest they've come to claiming a win this season.
"I know there's a couple of good players there who have been punching a bit above their weight and that's good to see," Qureshi said of the Mid West side.
Bathurst's last win was earned mostly on the back of consistent pressure with the ball.
That's a trend Bathurst will be confident of continuing on their home turf.
The prospect of another Bathurst versus Dubbo grand final is an exciting prospect for the team.
The two districts have been the powerhouse teams of the region across the back half of the 2010s, and you would be brave to suggest that's going to change as we move into the 20s.
"I'd say it's been the pinnacle matchup over the last decade," Qureshi said.
"Hopefully we can get the job done on the weekend and make that game happen. We have to make sure we stay focused on this game first."
The last round game at the Sportsground gets underway from 10am.
