St David's Day commemorates the death of Wales' patron saint in 589 AD and is celebrated by Welsh nationals across the globe.
The Lions Club of Bathurst Inc agreed to raise the flag at the request of Bathurst man Terry James and on Monday it was flying high alongside the Australian flag, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, Greek flag and LGBT rainbow flag near Lions Berry Park.
Lion Club flags co-ordinator Paul Haysom said the club tried to match its flags to the national days of as many countries as possible.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"But some months have more national days than we can manage," Mr Haysom said.
"We have about 80 countries' flags all up but there are a couple of hundred countries in the world so we have a few to go."
Mr Haysom said the club already had the flags of many European countries but he was now focused on acquiring the flags of Australia's nearest neighbours throughout the Pacific region and around the Indian Ocean.
He said the Welsh flag, which had been raised on Saturday on preparation for St David's Day, was one of his favourites.
"The dragon looks fantastic. The Sri Lankan flag, with its gold lion, also looks great."
