Bathurst's Percy Raveneau took part in the recent NSW Over 50s Veterans Cricket competition at the Central Coast alongside twin brother Les, as part of the winning Kamilaroi Kricketers side.
Kamilaroi accounted for Greater Illawarra, Central Coast White and Port Jackson Barbarians in the four-team round robin competition.
The Rugby Union cricketer said he always jumps at the opportunity to join up with the Kamilaroi squad when the chance presents itself.
"Les used to live in Moree 25 years ago but he's from Harvey Bay so he comes down to play for us. We all played together in Moree in the 90s and the early 2000s," he said.
"Getting together is all about mateship and having a good time with the other teams. It's all a good giggle and hit when we get on the field and have a goof chat to everyone out there."
Kamilaroi got their carnival off to a great start when they scored 170 against Illawarra and held their opponents to 110.
They moved on to play Central Coast in game two, removing the hosts for 116 and then reaching the target with seven wickets still in hand.
Les Raveneau scored an unbeaten 41 and took 4-16 while Percy was 0-4 from four overs and hit the winning runs.
The last game was the most competitive clash of the event.
Kamilaroi batted first and made their way to 6-186 and Port Jackson recovered from a poor start with the bat to go close, but ultimately came up short at 156.
"It was a great outcome for all of the guys," Raveneau said.
"One of our major sponsors was Century 21 who helped put together our uniforms for us. We might end up moving into second division next year."
